If you're hunting for a real shot at a world-record peacock bass, then this is the place for you. It's already been proven to be a world record class fishery.

The quantity of the largest species of peacock bass (Cichla Temensis) caught each day is low (1-4 a day). However, this fishery has TROPHY Temensis. If you are seeking a 20+ pound peacock, then this is the fishery for you. In the 2023 season there were as many 20 pounders landed as anglers that fished the Curicuriari.

There is another smaller species of peacock (Orinocensis) often referred to as the butterfly peacock. The butterflies also grow large in this river (some exceeding 10 pounds). If you chose to target them then catching 10-30 fish a day is reasonable. Do not be turned off by their smaller size. Most of our anglers agree that pound for pound they are better fighters.
