The Fishing

This trip is built around targeting giant peacock bass (Cichla temensis)—the largest, most aggressive member of the species. You will also encounter Cichla orinocensis and Cichla monoculus, that put up just as much of a fight. These powerful predators explode on topwater lures, tear through cover, and fight with a speed and intensity that surprises even experienced anglers.

Daily catch rates typically range from 15–25+ fish per angler, depending on conditions and angler skill. This trip isn’t just about numbers though—it’s about precision fishing in untapped water, where you can sight-cast, work structure methodically, and experience the full behavior of these unique fish.

Whether you’re walking a spook across a glassy lagoon or ripping a woodchopper through open water, accurate casting and proper presentation are key. Our guides are seasoned and professional, offering adjustments and recommendations that help anglers of all skill levels succeed. All tackle is provided so you don’t have to bring anything except a change of clothes and a desire to catch Amazon peacock bass.

What Others Are Saying

“I went on the floating bungalow trip and it was one of the best fishing trips I've had. I caught multiple double digit peacock bass and lots of smaller ones along with other species.

All the staff were excellent, from the host in Manaus, to the cooks, guides, and camp host, everyone was great and the food was incredible.”

- Brian W.

“This trip has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember and I have to say that it did not disappoint!!

Acute Angling and their staff did an amazing job from the beginning of the trip to the end…If you love fishing, experiencing nature, and a good time with friends, then this is the trip for you...Thank you to all the Acute Angling staff for making this trip of a lifetime somehow better than what I thought was possible!!!”

- Joshua B.

“This was a fantastic trip. Jose was a fantastic host, the best we’ve ever had! We had Manoel as our guide and could not be happier. He went above and beyond every day to make sure our trip was perfect.

We now consider Jose and Manoel friends…We can’t wait for the next trip to the bungalows.”
